This successful Conference, coordinated in partnership with the Bishops’ representatives on the Scottish inter-faith council, SCES, and the Conforti Institute was held recently at the Institute.
It reflected the aims and objectives of the Church’s celebration of the 45th anniversary of the document on inter-faith dialogue from the 2nd Vatican Council. The programme included a number of workshops and an open forum involving leaders of the different faith communities in Scotland. In addition a schools’ pack was produced which has a particular focus on Christian Jewish relations and the Holocaust/Shoah.
Our panel at the open forum comprised Archbishop Conti, The Venerable Rewatha, Imam Mustaqeem, Rabbi Ruben and Ravinder Nijjar. All present agreed that the Conference was very enjoyable and indeed some of the pupils who attended have been asking for a follow up event!
