Global Citizenship

The Conforti Institute is committed to integral human development, development that promotes the good of every person and the whole person; it is cultural, economic, political, social, and spiritual. In line with our commitment to integral human development, the Institute is a member of IDEAS [www.ideas-forum.org.uk ], a network of agencies and education centres which promotes a global dimension in both formal and informal education.

The Institute offers

  • Opportunities for professional development for teachers
  •  Access to a wide range of useful resources both in the centre and through an on-line database www.seedsforlearning.org.uk
  • Curriculum support and advice

Working with Young People

Our Education Team has extensive experience of working with young people of primary and secondary school age. We use active and participatory methods to engage and motivate young people to achieve the goals of becoming responsible citizens and effective contributors. We are committed to working with others in developing awareness of non-violent alternatives.
Programmes can be organised around different themes – human rights, fair trade, respect for diversity or sustainable development. Team members are happy to discuss your specific needs.

Making Sense of the World
The Institute periodically produces simple guides to topical issues as part of our ‘Making Sense’ series. These are available in printed form or for download.

Working with Community Groups

Many groups struggle to survive because they lack the skills to organise and focus on their key priorities. Our Education Team can help you to ensure that your meetings are well organised and all your members are enabled to play a full part in your activities.
