Director, Conforti Institute
Tom is the director of the Conforti Institute. He graduated with STB, MA in Theology and Religious Studies from University of Louvain, and MA in Counselling at Loyola University, Chicago. His post-graduate studies include analytic psychotherapy, systems theory and group work, organisational development, consultancy and facilitation. He has worked in a variety of community and organisational settings including school and youth chaplaincy, community development, individual and group psychotherapy and he has extensive cross-cultural and overseas experience.
Depute Director, Conforti Institute
John is the Depute Director of the Conforti Institute and also the Provincial of the Xaverian Missionaries in the UK. He worked in Cameroon for four years and, on returning to the UK, spent a further four years working as an RE teacher and Chaplain at Cardinal Newman Sixth Form College in Preston. He recently graduated in Community Learning and Development from Glasgow University and is now a full time member of the Education Team at the Institute. He is also Chaplain to the Catholic Special Educational schools in Glasgow.
Head of Communications and Programmes
Hugh Foy completed his undergraduate study in Social Sciences and Divinity at Glasgow University. A Qualified Teacher of Religious Education and History he spent 25 years in Social Work Management and Catholic Education before joining the Conforti Education Team.
Hugh has a lifelong involvement and commitment to Workers‘ Rights and Grassroots Trade Unionism and an ongoing involvement in Social Justice Activism. This includes recent involvement on the Board of the Poverty Alliance and the National Planning Group of the Living Wage Campaign.
Hugh manages Conforti’s Programmes, Programme Development and Partnerships.
Education Team Member
Patrick is a Xaverian Father and a member of the Education Team. He has a wide range of experience of working with children in a variety of educational contexts.
Currently, he is Chaplain to both Holy Cross High School in Hamilton and to a number of the Catholic Special Educational Needs schools in Glasgow.
Paddy is a qualified ESOL teacher who previously volunteered with the Red Cross and after having spent two years in Italy and six years in the Philippines he has a range of intercultural experience that he employs in his delivery of courses to both teachers and pupils.
Global Learning Coordinator
Michael is a member of the Education Team and a Project Consultant at the Conforti Institute. As well as being a former Secondary Headteacher, he is also a qualified Life Coach. He has a wealth of experience working with young people and teachers.
He is passionate about helping teachers find ways of getting a balance between the demands and rewards of the job and ensuring that they still can have a life outwith school!
Michael is responsible for the delivery of the Institute’s Global Education Programme.
For the past 25 years, Michael has been involved in leading the Glasgow Archdiocesan Youth Pilgrimage to Lourdes.
