Values based Leadership:
For Principal Teachers
This course is aimed primarily at those staff newly appointed to or considering a role as a departmental / faculty leader. This practice based course will allow participants the opportunity to consider the challenges that can arise whilst trying to teach, manage and, most importantly, lead.
Whilst participants will look at the tensions that can sometimes occur between classroom commitments and the role of a middle manager, they will also be given practical strategies on how to move from having a vision into positive action planning.
The Course will focus on:
- The Leader in You
- From Vision to Action
- Conflict Transformation
- Time Management
The Course Facilitator, Michael Canning is a former secondary, Headteacher.
Having managed at senior management level Michael is able to advise and support participants as they consider the multitude of challenges which managers have to deal with on a daily basis. He does this by encouraging participants to reflect on their own values and how this practice can develop their potential as leaders within the school community.
The cost of this course is only £100: this includes all course materials and lunch. Residential stays can also be arranged which include dinner, bed and breakfast (£40).
